CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University cross country teams competed at the DeSales University Invitational Saturday morning. The men finished 25th while the women placed 23rd.
The Dickinson women took first in the 6K run. Rowan and Messiah placed second and third. The Knights placed 23rd out of the 25 teams.
Caitlin Coleman finished first for Neumann, with a time of 29:41 in the 6K. Megan Dodson ran a 30:33. Chrissy Parr finished with a time of 30:43. Kaitlin Broadhurst ran a 30:29 while Megan Birchall rounded out the Knights scoring, finished in 32:00.
Also running for the Knights was Kaitlyn Williams (32:14), Sarah Dodson (33:47) and Joanne Cox (38:56).
On the men’s side, Dickinson placed first, with Messiah and DeSales in second and third, respectively. Neumann finished 25th out of the 27 teams.
Tim Schmitz led the Knights, finishing the 8K run in 31:16. He finished 160th out of 282 runners. David Bergamo was the second Knight to cross the line with a time of 31:40. Anthony Defrancesco ran the 8K course in 33:42. Samir Loftlin had a time of 35:44 and Chris Brown finished in 37:01.
The Knights now prepare for the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships, which will take place on November 7 at Immaculata University. The women begin at 10 while the men run at 11.
