Cross Country Competes at Cheyney

CHEYNEY, Pa. – The Neumann University cross country teams traveled to Cheyney University Wednesday afternoon for a 5K run against the Wolves.
On the women’s side, Neumann took the top three spots. Kelly Rehder paced the pack with a time of 23:01 in the 5K. Kaitlyn Broadhurst was second with a time of 24:51. Megan Dodson was just five seconds behind at 24:56. Sarah Dodson finished sixth (26:54) and Megan Brichall rounded out the Knights in seventh out of the 10 runners in 26:57.
The men also had the top three finishers. Tim Schmitz ran the 5K in 19:11. David Bergamo finished with a time of 19:24 and Anthony Defrancesco ran a 20:19. Lewis Nixon finished sixth (22:48) and Chris Brown finished seventh (22:59) in the 12 man race.
The Knights are preparing for the conference championship that will be held on November 7 at Immaculata University as part of the 2009 Fall Festival.
