Eight Knights Named to All-Conference Team

ASTON, Pa. – Eight Knights were named to Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) All-Conference teams, announced Friday.

Lauren Hood, Callie Emel and Kate Murphy received first team honors. Maggie Carpenter was a second team honoree. Melissa Malick, Megan Mazur, Chelsa O'Donnell and Terri Yurick all received honorable mention status.

Hood leads the team this season with seven goals, one game-winner. During her senior season, she also has five assists for 19 points and has started in all 17 games. Last season she received honorable mention and her sophomore she was on the second team.

Emel is second on the team with six goals, one game-winner. The freshman also has three assists for 15 points on the season.

Murphy, who has earned second honors the past two seasons, has played in all 17 games this season. In her senior year, she has scored one goal, notched one assist and one defensive save. She is one of the backbones of the defense.

Carpenter has recorded three shutouts in 11 games in net this season. The freshman has a 1.63 goals-against average in over 770 minutes. 

Yurick receives her second honorable mention. The junior has played in all 17 games and made one defensive save. She is a vital part of the Knights defense.

Malick, Mazur and O'Donnell all earn their first all-conference honors. Malick has scored five goals and added four assists in 17 games this season. Mazur has notched two goals and three assists. She also has converted 2-of-2 penalty stroke attempts. In her first season, O'Donnell has made two defensive saves and has become an important piece of the Neumann defense.

Lindsey Graham received the Sportsmanship Award for the Knights.

Neumann will host Immaculata tomorrow in a CSAC first round match-up. The game will begin at 3:30 p.m.
