Field Hockey Win First Round

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University field hockey team defeated Immaculata University, 3-2, Saturday afternoon in the first round of the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs in the 3 / 6 seed game.

Immaculata opened the scoring in the 13th minute of the first half. With five minutes left before halftime, Lauren Hood then scored for the Knights to tie the game.

In the second half, Neumann scored two goal in a three minute span to take a 3-1 lead. Melissa Hood and Callie Emel scored those goals. The Mighty Macs made the score 3-2 in the 55th minute, but Neumann held on for the 3-2 win.

Maggie Carpenter made 10 saves in net. 

With the win, Neumann will travel to No. 2 Gwynedd-Mercy College on Wednesday for the semifinal match-up. The game will begin at 5 p.m.
