Sell and Beidemann Named Player and Rookie of the Year

ASTON, Pa. – Junior Zach Sell and freshman Nathan Beideman were named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player and Rookie of the Year, respectively, announced Sunday. 

Heading into the playoffs, Sell is tied in for first on the Knights with seven goals. He also has three assists for a team-leading 17 points. The junior was also named to the CSAC first-team for the second consecutive season.

Beideman started in all 17 games as a freshman. He notched two goals and five points. Both goals were game-winners. The first one game in a 6-0 win at Centenary and a thrilling 3-1 win over Immaculata. Beideman was also named to the second team all-conference. 

Joining Sell on the first team is junior Ryan Bushbeck and sophomore Joe Larkins. Bushbeck, who was named to the second team all-conference last season, is tied with Sell with seven goals on the season. The junior has started in all 18 games and notched two game-winning goals. Larkins has notched four goals and three assists on the season, including one game-winner. He has seen time in 13 games and started in 10. 

Joining Beideman on the second team is junior Alfred Baa-Adomako. Baa-Adomako has scored two game-winning goals this season while adding two assists in 14 games. 

Earning Honorable Mention this season is junior Joseph Avvento, sophomore Andrew Leissing and senior Zac Ratliff. Avvento has played in 17 games and been a crucial part of the Knights defense. Leissing has played in 16 games and notched three assists. He is also an important piece of the Neumann backfield. Ratliff has played 14 games in net. In over 1,200 minutes, he has a 1.41 goal-against

Senior Josh Steer was the recipient of the Sportsmanship Award.
 

Neumann finished the regular season with a 9-7-2 overall record and 7-1-1 in the conference. The Knights earned the No. 2 seed for the playoffs and received a bye in the first round. Neumann will host a semifinal game on Thursday.
