Six Knights Named to CSAC All-Conference

ASTON, Pa. – Six Neumann University volleyball players have been named to the 2009 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) All-Conference Team, announced Monday. 

Ashley Mathis and Melissa Haines are first-team all-conference recipients. Mathis reached her 1,000th career kill earlier this season. She currently leads the team with 303 kills in 2009.The junior was on the first-team all-conference in 2008 and second team in 2007. Haines receives her first all-conference award. The senior libero leads the team with 476 digs this season. She reached her 1,000th career digs in a 3-0 win over the College of Notre Dame earlier this season and was also awarded the Sportsmanship Award. 

Jerrae Robinson earned her first All-Conference recognition on the second team this season. The sophomore hitter is second on the team with 237 kills. She leads the team with 50 services acres. 

Earning Honorable Mention for 2009 is senior Emilee Gruse, Junior Lauren Sheehan and sophomore Cecily Scavicchio. Gruse notched her 1,000th kill earlier this season against Centenary College. She is third on the team in 2009 with 206 kills. Sheehan has 141 kills this season. She is tied for first with 49 total blocks and is second on the team in service acres with 38. Scavicchio has dished out 882 assists this season. She has also notched 27 service acres and 266 digs. 

Neumann, the No. 2 seed, will host a semifinal CSAC game on Thursday night beginning at 7 p.m.
