SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – The Neumann College men's golf team opened its 2009 spring season at the Rolling Green Golf Club in Springfield against Swarthmore College Monday afternoon.

Swarthmore shot a 309 as a team while Neumann shot 318. Richard Brandel and Shane Howey both shot a 79 on the 6,293 year, par 71 course to lead the Knights.

Chris Donohue and Matthew Waddington both shot an 80. Michael Marenic had an 82 to round out the top five. Thomas Moran shot an 88.

Neumann will compete next in the Wesley College Classic on March 22-23.
