Women's Lacrosse Falls to Elmira

DREXEL HILL, Pa. – The Neumann College women’s lacrosse fell to non-conference Elmira College, 20-17, on a cold and rainy Tuesday afternoon.

 

Gabby D’Ambrosio netted seven goals for the Knights. Alex Bohen scored five goals and Colleen Finnegan had three. Kathleen Sinclair made seven saves in net.

 

Lindsay Mitchell scored five goals for the Soaring Eagles. Jordan Donegan and Sarah Young each netted three. Erin Kendall netted four assists. Stephanie McClure made eight saves in net in the second half for Elmira.

 

Elmira started the game off quickly and netted the first 10 goals of the game. D’Ambrosio put Neumann on the board with 12:53 left in the first half. Bohen then scored less then a minute later. The Soaring Eagles took a 12-5 lead at the break.

 

The Knights came out shooting in the second half and scored six of the first seven goals to make the score 13-11. Elmira built its lead back up to six goals, 19-13, with 7:09 remaining. Neumann then scored three goals over the next two minutes for a 19-16 game. Bohen scored the 17th goal with 2:52 on the clock, but the Soaring Eagles held off the late surge for the 20-17 win.

 

Neumann will host Cedar Crest College on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Msgr. Bonner High School. The game is the last home game of the season, so the seniors will be recognized before the game.
