Women's Lacrosse Can't Get Past the Garnet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Neumann College women’s lacrosse team fell to Swarthmore College, 21-15, Tuesday night in non-conference action.

 

Gabby D’Ambrosio led the Knights with five goals. Alex Bohen netted four goals and Colleen Finnegan added three. Kathleen Sinclair made 16 saves in net.

 

Neumann and Swarthmore traded goals during the first part of the first half. With the score tied at three, the Garnet scored two goals. Neumann could not get closer then two goals throughout the remainder of the first half and Swarthmore took a 10-7 advantage at the break.

 

The Garnet scored the first four goals of the second half to take a 14-7 lead. D’Ambrosio scored the Knights eighth goal, but Swarthmore answered with three goals to take a 17-8 advantage.

 

The Knights did not give up and netted five goals in a row to cut the lead to 17-12, but could not get any closer.

 

The Knights finish the season 6-10 overall and 5-2 in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). Neumann will now wait for its seeding in the conference playoffs. The semifinals will take place on April 29.
