Men's Golf Compete for CSAC Title

ASTON, Pa. – Neumann College golf team prepares for the 2009 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship this weekend at Broad Run Golf Club, West Chester , P.a. 

The Knights enter the conference tournament in the top four of the conference.  Teams will tee-off at 12:30 on Saturday.

Prior to this weekend, Neumann placed first at the Swarthmore Invitational.  Neumann came in first, shooting a 321, CSAC foe Cabrini was third, 325.Thomas Moran placed second overall with a score of 78 on the par 71, 6,293 yard course. Richard Brandel shot an 80 for fifth place. Matthew Waddington finished a stroke behind with an 81. Michael Marenic shot an 82 and Shane Howey rounded out the scoring with an 89.

The Knights placed third out of five teams at the Immaculata Spring Invitational.  Thomas Moran tied for second and finished first for the Knights, shooting a 76 on the par 72, 6,396 yard course. Matthew Waddington placed sixth with a score of 81. Mike Marenic shot an 85, Jeremy Gates had an 87 and Richard Brandel rounded out the Knights scoring with an 88.

Neumann will be against competing against seven other teams including Cabrini, Keystone, Immaculata, Philadelphia Biblical, Centenary, Gwynedd-Mercy and Baptist Bible.
