Women's Lacrosse Fall in CSAC Semifinals

RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann College women’s lacrosse team fell to Cabrini College, 25-12, Wednesday afternoon in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up.

 

Neumann entered the game as the No. 3 seed in the playoffs. Cabrini was the No. 2 seed.

 

Colleen Finnegan led the Knights with four goals. Rachael DiCicco and Gabby D’Ambrosio each had two goals and two assists. Dominique Thompson and Sarah Poynter added two goals. Kathleen Sinclair had 15 saves in net.

 

Cabrini opened the game scoring the first four goals. The Knights netted three of the next four goals to make the score 5-3 with 20:38 on the clock. Over the next 10 minutes, the Cavaliers out scored the Knights 7-3 to take a 13-6 advantage. Cabrini finished the half scoring four goals to take a 17-6 lead at the half.

 

Thompson and Finnegan scored for Neumann as the Knights netted the first two goals of the second half, but the first half was too much to overcome.

 

Cabrini advances to the CSAC Championship game on Saturday against the No. 1 seeded Gwynedd-Mercy College.

 

Neumann ends its season 6-11 overall.
