Sebasto Named CSAC Player of the Year

ASTON, Pa. – Angela Sebasto, of the Neumann College softball team, has been named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year, announced Wednesday evening by the conference office.

 

Sebasto was also named to the first team All-Conference as a pitcher. Joining her on the first team was Jenn Goslin (first base) Caitlin Hanrahan (catcher) and Gabrielle Lulias (outfield).

 

Earning second team All-Conference status were Lauren Strack (second base), Kim Kirkpatrick (shortstop) and Megan Mazur (third base). Stephanie Marrone was named to the All-Sportsmanship team.

 

Sebasto is 16-3 overall this season with a 1.74 ERA. In 116.1 innings pitched, the senior has struck out 170 batters. She also has two perfect games this season.

 

Goslin has played in 35 games this season. The junior is batting .344 with 31 hits. She leads the team with nine home runs, she also has five doubles.

 

Hanrahan has been behind the plate in 36 games this season. Batting .348 on the season, the senior has 31 hits, scored 35 runs and hit five homeruns this season and walked a team-high 25 times.

 

Lulias is batting .351 in 35 games this season. She leads the team with 11 stolen bases. The junior has 26 hits and scored 15 runs.

 

Strack has 42 hits this season and has scored 22 runs. Batting .400, the sophomore has hit seven doubles and a triple.

 

Kirkpatrick has 29 hits and has scored 20 runs this season. The sophomore has hit four homeruns, three triples and nine doubles and knocked in 28 runs.

 

Mazur has 23 hits and four doubles in 27 games this season. The junior is batting .377 on the season.

 

Marrone has played in 22 games and has 12 hits, three doubles. Batting .273, the sophomore has 13 RBI.

 

Neumann hosts its first conference championship this weekend. The first game is at 10 a.m. on Saturday as Centenary and Gwynedd-Mercy takes the field. The Knights will face Immaculata at noon.
