Neumann Invited to ECAC Tournament

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team will continue its 2009 season as it was selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Region Championship, announced Monday.

 

The Knights are one of six teams selected to the South Region. They are the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Delaware Valley College in an opening-round match-up on Wednesday, May 13 at 3 p.m.

 

The other first round match-up will be between No. 4 Frostburg State University and No. 5 Wesley College.

 

The tournament will shift to top-seeded Wilkes University for the semifinals and finals on Friday, May 15. Wilkes will battle the winner of the Frostburg/Wesley contest at 9:00 a.m. followed by No. 2 Penn State Altoona taking on the winner of the Delaware Valley/Neumann game at 12:00 p.m. The ECAC South Region Championship Game will then take place at 3:00 p.m. or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the second semifinal contest.

 

The Aggies are 21-12 overall this season. Neumann is coming off a stellar show at the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Tournament. The Knights advanced to the Championship game in which they fell to the No. 1 seed Keystone College.


Admission for Wednesday’s match-up will $3 for adults, $2 for seniors, $1 for students and free for children under 6.
