ASTON, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) announced the 2008-09 President Cup Awards Wednesday morning. Cabrini College swept all three awards in men, women and overall sports.

Overall, Neumann finished fourth, collecting 65.05% of the points, behind Cabrini, Gwynedd-Mercy and Marywood. This year, the Knights had one of the best athletic season, with four team winning the conference championship (Volleyball, Field Hockey, Men’s Tennis and Softball) while two others finishing in the runner-up slot (men’s soccer and baseball).

In the women’s standing, the Knights finished third, behind Cabrini and Gwynedd-Mercy, with 72.81% of the available points. On the men’s side, Neumann finished fifth.

The President’s Cup is awarded annually to the Men’s, Women’s and Overall athletics programs with the highest competitive percentage rating, based on championship finish and regular season play. Institutional scores are calculated using a graduated point system, with each participating institution earning a pro-rated share based on conference finish. The competitive percentage rating is determined by dividing the total number of points an institution earned by the total possible points.

What makes this the best time of the year?
