ASTON, Pa. – Gabby D’Ambrosio and Rachael DiCicco, of the Neumann University women’s lacrosse team, were named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area Women’s Lacrosse Team, announced Sunday, July 19. The team is voted on by the sports information offices of
the 28 area institutions from the Philadelphia metro area.
D’Ambrosio was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year for the 2009 season. The first-team all-conference honoree led the team with 24 goals and 11 assists for 35 points in 17 games. She scored her 200th career goal in a 21-15 loss to Swarthmore College.
DiCicco has scored 24 goals and notched 11 assists in 17 games this season. She was named CSAC honorable mention. Also a field hockey player, the elementary education major was also named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team in the fall.
The Knights fell to Cabrini College in the CSAC semifinals and finished the season 6-11, 5-2 in the conference.
