Neumann's Women's Lacrosse Earns IWLCA Honors

ASTON, Pa. – Neumann University has been named as one of the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division III Academic Squads.

 

Neumann was one of the 62 Division III Institutions to receive this award. The team must have a collective 3.0 GPA or greater. The Knights were one of two teams from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) to be named an academic squad. The College of Notre Dame was the other institution.

 

“Academics are our top priority,” stated Head Coach Sarah Kurpel. “I am very proud of our team to be able to excel in the classroom and on the field.”

 

Also announced is the IWLCA Academic Squad. This award is presented to student-athletes that have attained junior status academically and have at least a 3.5 GPA or in the top 10-percent of their team.

 

Two Knights were named honorees to the academic squad; Rachael DiCicco and Gabby D’Ambrosio. Both DiCicco and D’Ambrosio graduated in May 2009.
