WIH Completes Sweep of Cortland St.

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey defeated Cortland State, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.

 

Jessica Schroeder netted two goals for the Knights. Shannon Donnelly made 21 saves in net.

 

The Knights scored two goals in the first period to jump out to a lead and never looked back. Schroder scored at 1:54 into the period, from Nikki Blankzo, to get on the board. The Knight's Jennie Greenlee scored at 14:39 of a behind the goal pass from Nicole Alexopoulos to put Neumann up 2-0 going into the second period.

 

Neumann kept putting on the pressure by scoring two more goals in the second period.   Schroeder netted her second goal 2:56 into the period, off a pass from Olvia Pryzblykowski in the defensive zone.  Captain Holly Williams scored 11:08 into the period from Tanya Lamon and Khristine Acosta.

 

Cortland scored their lone in the third period, but the Knights defense did not let up and sealed the win for Neumann.

 

The Knights (10-6-1, 5-4-1 ECAC West) return back to action on the road when they face ECAC West opponent Elmira College next Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.
