ASTON, Pa. – Brent Tamane scored in overtime to life the Neumann University men’s ice hockey team to a 2-1 win over Lebanon Valley College Friday evening in ECAC West action.
Tamane and Mat Valois scored the goals for the Knights. Matt Tendler made 16 saves in net for the win.
After a scoreless first period, both teams netted a goal in the second. Neumann’s Valois scored 1:40 into the period, off assists from Matt Ward and Jordan Zalba.
Lebanon Valley then tied the score at one at the 6:12 mark. Neither team could light the lamp in the third period and the game was sent into overtime.
Tamane put the puck in the net 1:03 into the overtime session after William Lacasse had a shot from the point. Bill Foster also assisted on the goal.
Neumann (10-8-2, 3-5-3 ECAC West) will go on the road for the only time during the regular season this semester next weekend when it travels to Manhattanville for a pair of ECAC West games. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evenings.
