ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Neumann University women’s ice hockey team fell to #3 Elmira College, 2-1, Sunday afternoon in ECAC West action.
Nicki Blazenko scored for the Knights. Kayla Dubowski and Jessica Schroeder had the assists. Shannon Donnelly made 35 saves in net.
Blazenko scored the first goal of the game at the 9:05 mark of the second period. Elmira tied the game at one four-and-a-half minutes later. The teams went into the second intermission equal.
The Soaring Eagles netted the go-ahead goal at the 4:28 mark of the third in the power play. Neumann could not get an equalizer and fell 2-1.
Neumann (10-8-1, 5-6-1 ECAC West) will host Potsdam next weekend in conference action. The puck will drop at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
