Kuklentz Named CSAC Rookie of the Year

ASTON, Pa. – Katelin Kuklentz, of the Neumann University volleyball team, has been named the 2010 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Rookie of the Year, announced Monday by the conference office.

 

Kulentz was also named to the first-team All-Conference. Earning second team honors are juniors Cecily Scavicchio and Natalie George. Sophomore Victoria Limmina earned honorable mention. Freshman Christina Ford was named to the Sportsmanship team.

 

Kuklentz currently leads the team with 403 kills this season. She also has 341 digs and 21 service aces. The freshman has played in 31 of the 32 matches this season.

 

Scavicchio has handed out 1,082 assists and 36 services aces this far in 2010. In 32 matches, the sophomore has 310 digs as well.

 

George leads the Knights with 73 total blocks, 31 block solos and 42 block assists this season. The junior is second on the team with 306 kills.

 

Limmina has been the Libero this season. She leads the team with 511 digs. She also has 26 service aces.

 

Neumann finished the regular season 15-17 overall and 9-2 in the conference. The Knights are the No. 3 seed heading into the CSAC playoffs. Neumann will host No. 6 Notre Dame tomorrow evening. The first round match begins at 7 p.m. in the Mirenda Center.
