, R.I. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team shutout Nichols College 5-0 Friday evening in non-conference action.

Five Knights lit the lamp in the win. Jessica Schroeder was the only player to notch multiple points, as she had a goal and an assist. Shannon Donnelly made 21 saves in net for the shutout.

Diane Peters scored the first goal of the contest and the eventual game-winner, midway through the first period. Dru Austin and Amelie St. Louis assisted on the goal. Schroeder then scored her goal, off an assist from Mariah Fairgrieve, at the 14:34 mark. Neumann held a 2-0 going into the first intermission.

Lynsey Nakamura scored her first goal of the season 35 seconds into the second period. Jennie Greenlee made the score 4-0 with a goal 1:55 into the third period. Edie Brenning and Stephanie Bonin assisted on Greenlee's goal.

Kristine Acosta wrapped up the scoring on a power play goal at the 12:03 mark of the third period. Stephanie Nakamura and Schroeder assisted on the final goal.

Neumann (5-4-1) will wrap-up the first half of the season tomorrow afternoon when it travels to Connecticut College. The puck is set to drop at 3 p.m.
