Men's Basketball Fall to Pacers

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men’s basketball team fell to Marywood University, 85-73, Monday evening in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
 

Na’Sheed Linton led the Knights with 18 points. Ty Robinson netted 14. Touré Wright grabbed 10 rebounds.

The Pacers had four players in double-figures. D.J. Strayhorn led with 19 points. Matthew Medici netted 18. Jerome Gosney scored 16 while Sidney Tharpe added 15. Lenny Martin pulled down 11 rebounds. 

Marywood played strong early, building a 19-10 lead 12:39 into the game. The Knights would not go away and would tie the game at 21-21 with 8:15 left in the opening half.  The two teams would trade leads the remainder of the first half and with a Linton lay-up and jumper, the Knights went into the break with a 34-31 lead. 

With the scored tied at 47 with 13:32 on the clock in the second half, the Pacers went on a 10-0 run.  The Knights got back to within six with just under ten to play, but Marywood stretched its lead back to a comfortable double-digit margin, going up by as many as 19, to take the game 85-73.

Neumann (9-10, 7-5 CSAC) will host Baptist Bible on Thursday evening in a CSAC contest. Tip-off is at 7 p.m.
