Women's Ice Hockey Falls in Overtime

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women’s ice hockey team fell to Buffalo State, 4-3 in overtime, Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.
 

Nicki Blazenko, Kayla Dubowski and Brittany Metcalfe scored for the Knights. Laura Keeley made 16 saves in net.

Christine Williams scored twice for the Bengals. Rio Flynn and Kailyn Murray had a goal and an assist. Alyssa Koniar had 32 saves in net.

Buffalo St. scored the only goal of the first period, 2:36 into the game. The Bengals then took a 2-0 lead 50 seconds into the seconds period. Blazenko answered 10 seconds later to cut the lead to one. 

Metcalfe and Dubowski then scored power play goals at the 2:42 and 13:36 mark of the second to put the Knights up 3-2.

Buffalo St. tied the game at three with just 1:51 left in regulation. The Bengals then scored the game winner at the 2:55 mark of the overtime session. 

Before the game, Neumann recognized its three seniors: Holly Williams, Laura Keeley and Amanda Houck.

Neumann (10-9-1, 5-7-1 ECAC West) and Buffalo St. will face-off again tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
