Women's Ice Hockey Holds Off Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann University women’s ice hockey team defeated Chatham University 6-4 Friday evening in ECAC West action.

Jasper Thomson led the Knights with two goals and two assists. Nicki Blazenko netted two goals. Nicole Alexopoulos had a goal and assist. Jessica Schroeder and Stephanie Nakamura each had two assists. Shannon Donnelly made 31 saves in net.

Chatham scored just 18 seconds into the game. The Knights responded with four goals, including two from Blazenko, to take a 4-1 lead into the first intermission.

Chatham scored its second goal in the second period. Thomson then scored the eventual game-winner with 13:31 on the clock.

Thomson scored her second goal of the game in the beginning of the third period. Chatham netted two more goals, but Neumann held on for a 6-4 win.

Neumann improves to 12-9-1 overall and 7-7-1 in the conference. These two teams will meet again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
