Women's Ice Hockey Falls to Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Neumann University women’s ice hockey team fell to Chatham, 4-3, Saturday afternoon in ECAC West action.

Diane Peters netted two goals for the Knights. Jessica Schroeder had two assists. The junior now has 102 points in her career. Kendra Chisholm made 17 saves in net in 30 minutes. Shannon Donnelly made 17 saves in the second half of the game.

Chatham scored first in the game. Peters then scored her first goal, on the power play, at the 5:51 mark to tie the game. The Cougars then took a 2-1 lead before the first intermission.

Peters netted her second goal 4:16 into the second period to tied the game at two. Chatham then scored two goals in two-and-a-half minutes to take a 4-2 lead into the second intermission.

Nicole Alexopoulos would get Neumann back to within one, 4-3, midway through the third, but the Knights could not get the equalizer.

Neumann is now 12-10-1 overall and 7-8-1 in the conference. The Knights have two make-up games with Potsdam this week to wrap-up the regular season before heading into the playoffs starting next Saturday.
