Men's Basketball Falls to Cabrini in Championship Contest

RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann University men’s basketball team fell to No. 21 Cabrini College Friday evening in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship contest, 97-73.

Na’Sheed Linton hit his 1,000th career point at the front end of a one-and-one with 3:53 remaining in the second half. He ended the game with 18 points. Marquise Boggs netted 14, Sean Armstrong added 14 and Patrick O’Conner scored 12.

Cory Lemons led the Cavaliers with 25 points. Kevin Misevicius netted 21 and grabbed 14 rebounds. Dom Farrello scored 15 while Lamar Fisher and Brandon Carter each added 10.

The story of the first half was shooting percentage. Cabrini shot 64.7 percent from the field and 70.0 percent from beyond the arc and built up a 23 points halftime advantage.

The Knights started a comeback attempt with 6 minutes remaining in regulation when they went on a 12-0 run to cut the Cavaliers lead to 15, 86-71. But Cabrini built its lead back up to 26 points and took home the title.

Neumann (16-12) will now wait for the ECAC Tournament announcement on Monday, March 1 to see if its season will continue.
