ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men’s basketball team, the No. 3 seed in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs, will face No. 1 seeded Cabrini College tonight for the Championship. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. on the campus of Cabrini College.

The Knights are looking for their first conference title. This is Neumann’s first trip to the conference championship game since the 2002-03 season when it fell to Alvernia, 80-73.

Neumann advanced to the championship game by overcoming a 10-point halftime deficit and defeating No.2 Keystone 69-65 Wednesday evening in a semifinal match-up. Four Knights hit double-figures, led by Marquise Boggs with 14. Na’Sheed Linton and Ty Robinson each scored 12 points. Patrick O’Conner added 11.

In the first round, the Knights hosted their first post-season game in six seasons. Neumann defeated No. 6 Centenary 81-75. Boggs led the team with 24 points. Linton added 19. The Knights, again, had to overcome a halftime deficit, 49-41.

Under first-year Head Coach Lenny Stanziano, Neumann is 16-11 overall. The Knights finished conference action 12-6 to earn the No. 3 seed. The 16 wins are the most for the program since the 2002-03 season, when the Knights finished with 18.

Neumann fell to Cabrini during both regular season games this season: first on the road on Jan. 21 (88-79) and then at home in overtime Feb. 20 (89-87). The last time these two teams met the conference title game (2002), the Cavaliers came out on top, 71-67.

The Knights are led this season by senior Na’Sheed Linton. Linton is averaging 16.6 points per game. During the first round game against Centenary, he set the season record for assists. He currently has 138. Junior Marquise Boggs adds 11.7 ppg. Senior Ty Robinson nets 9.6 and senior Sean Armstrong contributes 9.1. Armstrong also leads the team in rebounds per game with 7.0. Senior Toure’ Write pulls down 6.7.

For those who can’t make it to the game, there are two ways to follow your Knights at home:

Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens and visiting students with ID. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
