ASTON, Pa. – Jonathan La Rose, of the Neumann University men's ice hockey team, has been named this week's ECAC West Goalie of the Week. Matt Ward was named to the honor roll.
La Rose made his second start for the Knights over the weekend against #13 Manhattanville. He made 39 saves, including 11 in overtime, as Neumann and Manhattanville ended in a 0-0 tie.
On the season, La Rose has a 1.92 goals against average in his two games and a .944 save percentage.
Ward had a goal and two assists in Neumann's 4-3 win over Manhattanville Friday evening. The senior assisted on the first goal of the game. He then scored in the second period to knot the game back up at 2. His second assist came on the game-winning goal.
For the season, Ward leads the team with 23 points (7 goals and 16 assists). He has three power play goals and one game-winner.
The Knights will host Elmira College this weekend in ECAC West action. The puck will drop at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening at Ice Works.
