Women's Ice Hockey Finishes Season at Utica

UTICA, N.Y. – The Neumann University women’s ice hockey team fell to Utica College, 4-1, Monday evening in the first round of the ECAC West playoffs.

 

Diane Peters scored for the Knights. Kayla Dubowski and Stephanie Nakamura notched the assists. Shannon Donnelly made 25 saves in net. Neumann out shot Utica, 36-29.

 

Peters scored her goal on the power play 10:22 into the game. The Knights took the 1-0 advantage into the first intermission.

 

Utica then scored three goals in the second period to take a 3-1 lead. The Pioneers tied the game just 1:31 into the period. Utica took the lead on a goal midway through the period. The Pioneers added to their lead with a power play goal and went into the second intermission up 3-1.

 

The Pioneers added to its lead with a goal 2:58 into the third and the Knights could not light the lamp again.

 

Neumann ends its season 12-12-1. Utica moves on and will travel to Plattsburgh St. in the semifinals.
