CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University men's track & field team opened its inaugural season at the Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by Widener University.
Jeffery Best placed fifth in the 100-meter, finishing with a time of 11.74. Dave Matkowski ran in the 200 (24.43) and Andrew Bucko competed in the 800 (2:17.24).
In the field events, Best placed ninth in the long jump with a distance of 21-0 1/2 feet. Dennis Rowland competed in the discus (110-4), javelin (128-11) and shot put (39-0 1/2). Michael Dolman also threw in the javelin and finished with a distance of 123-10. Two more Knights threw the shot put this afternoon, Joe Ecret (29-1 1/4) and Joe Soto (26-5 1/2).
Neumann will travel to Rowan to compete in the Rowan Invitational on April 9.
