Women's Lacrosse Falls to Notre Dame

ASTON, Pa. - Neumann University women’s lacrosse dropped a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) game to College of Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon, 15-7.

 

The Knights saw six different players score goals. Leading the way for Neumann was Lauren Frampton with two goals. Kathleen Sinclair recorded 15 saves on the afternoon.

The Gators Lauren Terry and Allison Terry each scored six goals. Emily Langton made seven saves for the win.

 

Notre Dame opened up the scoring on the afternoon with three early goals, but Neumann quickly responded with goals by Colleen Finnegan and Frampton to pull within one.  The Gators controlled play for the rest of the first half, scoring three unanswered goals to take a 7-2 halftime lead.

 

Notre Dame extended their led to 11-2 just four minutes into the half. Neumann continued to battle for the remainder of the second half. An Ellyn Jones free position goal with sixteen minutes in the half ended the Gators scoring run. Neumann scored four goals in the final ten minutes of play, but could not pull within reach of the Notre Dame, falling 15-7.

 

Before the game, Neumann honored the three seniors on the team: Tiffany Baker, Colleen Finnegan and Jennifer McKenna.

 

Neumann travels to Cedar Crest on Tuesday afternoon in a conference match-up. The game is slated for 4 p.m.
