Men's Tennis to Face GMC in CSAC Semifinal

ASTON, Pa. – The reigning Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship Neumann Knights will be the No. 2 seed heading into the 2010 Tournament.

 

Neumann will face No. 3 seeded Gwynedd-Mercy. Marywood holds the No. 1 seed after finishing the regular season with a 7-0 conference record. Keystone rounds out the participants. The semifinals will be on Sunday, May 2 with the Championship match on Monday, May 3. All matches will be at the Healthplex in Springfield, Pa.

 

The Knights had a conference record of 6-1 and defeated the Griffins during the regular season by a 7-2 score.

 

Senior Dan Harnos leads Neumann this season in the No. 4 singles slot. He is 12-4 overall and a perfect 6-0 against CSAC opponents. Junior Chris Brown takes the reins in the No. 1 spot and is 10-5 this season and 6-0 in conference action. Senior Abe Joseph is 4-0 in conference play at sixth singles. Overall, the team in singles play is 31-5 against the CSAC.

 

In doubles action, Junior Greg Bridgeman and Senior Brian Crispin are 7-5 in the second slot, 4-0 in the CSAC. The team is 14-4 in doubles when against a conference opponent.

 

Marywood and Keystone get the semifinal under way on Sunday at 11 a.m. Neumann and Gwynedd-Mercy will begin after the first match has ended.
