Men's Lacrosse Holds off Cyclones

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men’s lacrosse team defeated Centenary College, 12-10, Wednesday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.

 

Justin Mailloux scored three goals for the Knights. Corey Laforte and Dominic Collichio both netted two goals. Andrew Neubauer made 13 saves in net.

The beginning of the game was low-scoring. The teams were tied at three after one quarter. Centenary scored the only two goals of the second quarter for a 5-3 lead at halftime.

The Knights then exploded for seven goals in the third quarter. Brandon Thomas netted the seventh goal for Neumann to take a 7-6 lead and the Knights would not trail again. With two goals to start the fourth quarter, the Knights opened up to a 12-6 advantage.

The Cyclones scored the game’s final four goals, but the Knights held on for the 12-10 win.

Neumann improves to 2-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference. The Knights will travel to Randolph Macon this weekend for non-conference action beginning at 1 p.m.
