Softball Falls to Moravian

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 5 Neumann University softball team dropped its first game at the NCAA Regional in Providence, R.I. by a 3-0 score to No. 2 Moravian College.

The Knights were held to just three hits by Jennifer Goslin, Crystal Perlman and Callie Emel.

Moravian jumped on the board with a two-run shot by Shannen Mohr in the bottom of the first inning. The Greyhounds added a run in the bottom of the fifth inning for a 3-0 lead.

With two outs in the seventh, Emel pinch hit in and smacked a double down the left field line.

Brittany Campbell pitched for Neumann. She allowed the three runs on six hits and struck out two.

Neumann will face Baruch at 4 p.m. this afternoon in an elimination game.
