SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – The Neumann University men’s tennis team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy College, 5-0, Sunday afternoon in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinals at the Healthplex in Springfield, Pa.
No. 2 seeded Neumann started the afternoon by winning all three doubles matches. Chris Brown and Dan Harnos took No. 1 doubles, 8-4, over Jared Morgan and Eric Trinkle. Greg Bridgeman and Brian Crispin won second doubles, also 8-4, over Ryan Murray and Lou Vessels. Greg Christensen and Abe Joseph won 8-2 at third doubles over Matt Johnson and Tim Munsey.
Harnos made quick work of Murray at fourth singles, 6-0, 6-0. Joseph clinched the fifth point and the match with a 6-2, 6-1, over Munsey.
Neumann (9-9) will face the No. 1 seed Marywood University tomorrow at 11 a.m. for the CSAC Title. The match will be played at the Healthplex in Springfield, Pa.
