ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University softball team will host the 2010 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) softball tournament, beginning on Friday, after earning the No. 1 seed.
The Knights finished the regular season with an overall record of 23-16 and 21-1 in the CSAC. As the No. 1 seed, Neumann will host the two-day Championship Round on Friday and Saturday.
Centenary earned the No. 2 seed after going 29-11 overall and 18-4 in the conference.
Cabrini and Marywood advanced to the Tournament after winning its first round games. Cabrini defeated Baptist Bible 2-0 while Marywood defeated Immaculata 6-1.
The Knights are led this season by CSAC Player of the Year Jennifer Goslin. The senior is batting .515 with 52 hits, 47 RBI, 17 doubles and four homeruns.
Kim Kirkpatrick is second on the team with a batting average of .450. She leads the team with five homeruns and three triples.
Brittany Campbell is 8-5 from the circle with an earned-run-average of 2.58 in 95.0 innings pitched. Rachel Purpuro is 8-4 and leads the pitchers with 67 strikeouts.
