ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men’s soccer team blanked St. Mary’s College of Maryland, 5-0, in the opening game of the 2010 season Wednesday evening.

Andrew Leissing (jr. Beachwood, N.J. / Toms River South) scored three goals and notched an assist to lead the Knights. Michael Frei (so. Dubendorf, Switzerland) and Kyle Tysoe (so. Cresco, Pa. / Pocono Mountain East) also scored for Neumann. Bob Mastrillo (jr. Tabernacle, N.J. / Seneca) made two saves in net for the shutout.

Neumann tallied quickly as Frei scored in the sixth minute of the game. Leissing then took over and goals in two minutes. His first and third goals were on penalty kicks. Leissing completed his hat trick in the 37^th minute and the Knights took a 4-0 lead into halftime.

Tysoe sealed the scoring in the 81^st minute. 

Neumann hosts Wilkes University on Saturday on the turf field beginning at 1 p.m.
