Cross Country Opens at GMC Invitational

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Neumann University cross country teams opened the 2010 season at the Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational Saturday morning.

Kelly Rehder paced the women, finishing the course in 22:23 and in 22nd place out of the 61 that finished the race. Emily Stowell placed 30th with a time of 23:36. Lindsey Lapetina was just behind Stowell with a time of 23:48 (33rd). Annamarie Conner rounded out the Knights with a time of 28:05 (53rd).

On the men’s side, Tim Schmitz was the first Knights to cross the line with a time of 31:19, good for 28th place out of 64. Michael Hammond finished 35th with a time of 32:36. Chris Brown and Dave Bergamo placed 42 and 43 with times of 34:08 and 34:28, respectively. Anthony Defrancesco ran a time of 36:55 (53rd) and Tim Kane finished in 39:14 (55th).

Neumann will compete in the Wilmington University Invitational next Saturday.
