ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team defeated Penn State University 2-1 in exhibition action Friday evening.

Kristine Acosta put the Knights up 1-0 at the 11:01 mark of the first period. Nicole Alexopoulos put Neumann up 2-0 with 27 seconds left in the first period. Ang Gilmour assisted on both goals.

Penn State would cut the lead to 2-1 late in the third period, but Neumann held on for the 2-1 game.

Allie Frank made 19 saves in net.

Neumann and Penn State will complete the home-and-home series tomorrow in State College in a 7:00 PM start.
