Knights defeat Bears to Complete Conference Play

POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Neumann University women's ice hockey team wrapped-up its conference schedule with a 2-1 win at Potsdam State University on Sunday afternoon.

 

Angela Gilmour and Khristine Acosta scored for the Knights. Kendra Chisholm made 35 saves in net.

 

Gilmour opened the scoring 3:16 into the second period. Edie Brenning assisted on the goal. Acosta then scored a power play goal at the 12:30 mark on the second. Jessica Schroeder and Kayla Dubowski assisted on the eventual game-winner.

 

Potsdam got on the board with a shorthanded goal at the 7:19 mark of the third period. The Bears also outshot the Knights 17-6 in the third period, but could not get the equalizer and Neumann came away with the 2-1 win.

 

With the win, Neumann finishes 10-6-2 in ECAC West play and is currently 13-6-4 overall. The Knights finish with 22 points in the conference and will enter the playoffs as the No. 4 seed. Neumann hosts Sacred Heart next weekend for the regular season finale.
