Box Score

HACKETSTOWN, Pa. – The No. 5 Neumann University women's lacrosse team defeated No. 4 Centenary College 13-10 on Saturday afternoon in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) first round.

Alexandra Bohen and Erica Crabtree each notched four goals for the Knights. Suzanne Sheehan and Lauren Frampton each netted two. Sam Kotowski made 17 saves in net.

After the Cyclones opened the scoring, the Knights put three straight goals on the board for a 3-1 game. The teams then traded goals throughout the rest of the first half and Neumann held a 7-4 lead at the break.

Centenary netted two goals to start the second half to pull within one, 7-6. Neumann answered with five straight goals over a 10 minute span to jump out to a 12-6 lead.

The Cyclones outscored the Knights 4-1 in the final 17 minutes, however, Neumann had built up enough of a cushion to take home the 13-10 win and advance to the semifinals.

This is Neumann's first post-season victory since it defeated Misericordia 16-12 in a 2007 first round game.

Neumann improves to 7-8 on the season. The Knights will play in a semifinal game at either No. 1 Marywood or No. 2 Gwynedd-Mercy on Wednesday, depending on the outcome of the other semifinal game featuring No. 3 Cabrini hosting No. 6 Immaculata.
