Women’s Tennis All-Conference Announced

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team received Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) post-season awards for the fantastic fall 2012 (8-2 CSAC) season.

 

The Knights Heather Nicholson received Second Team All-Conference honors for both singles and doubles. Nicholson went 8-5 overall, 6-2 in CSAC competitions this season in singles play. Nicholson and doubles partner Cherie Allen boasted a superb 7-1 CSAC record.

 

Doubles partners Gabrielle Porcelli and Teresa Kozin earned Second Team selection. Porcelli/Kozin dominated conference play with a 9-1 CSAC record.

 

The women's tennis team was rewarded for their fine season, as Sarah Schroeder, Porcelli and Allen earned Honorable Mention status for their singles play. Schroeder and Porcelli posted an 8-2 CSAC record, while Allen had a 7-3 CSAC record.

 

Allen was selected to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

 

The No. 3 Knights compete against No. 2 Marywood in the semifinals on Friday, October 19 and will follow the No. 1 Gwynedd-Mercy vs.  No. 4 Keystone College match starting at 9 a.m. The matches will be played at the Northwood Racquet and Fitness Club in Easton, Pa. The Finals will be held at the same location on Saturday October 20, slated for a 2 p.m. start.
