PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Katelin Kuklentz, of the Neumann University volleyball team, was named to the 2012 Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, announced on Wednesday. The team is voted on by the 29 collegiate institutions from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
In order to be eligible for the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic All-Area team, the athlete must be in her second year at the institution and hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better.
Kuklentz led the team with 346 kills in 2012. She also notched 340 digs. During her junior season, she reached the 1,000 kills and digs mark. Kuklentz also led the Knights in service aces with 44.
Neumann won the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship in a close 3-2 match over Cabrini. Kuklentz was named the Championship Match MVP. The Knights finished the season 23-9 overall.
