ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team fell to Marywood University 74-64 on Monday evening in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) First Round match-up.

Erica Marvel led the Knights with 14 points. Colleen Hinde added 10 points. Bethany Humenik pulled down 14 points while JoHanna Metzger grabbed 10.

The Pacers started to take control of the game after the first five minutes of play and the teams tied at eight. Marywood went on a 9-0 run to jump out to a 17-8 lead before the midway point of the first half. The Knights kept pace for the second part of the half and the Pacers took a 39-26 lead into halftime.

Neumann crept to within five points, 49-44, with 7:18 left in regulation. Marywood answered with seven points to take back a 12 point advantage, 58-46, with five minutes remaining. The Knights could not break through in the final five minutes and the Pacers came away with the first round win to advance to the CSAC semifinals.

Neumann (13-13) will now wait to see if it receives and ECAC Tournament bid, to be announced next Monday.
