Knights Battle In Back and Forth Game, but Fall 3-2

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Neumann University men's soccer team ended up on the wrong side of a back and forth game at Gettysburg College on Friday evening, falling 3-2.

Andrew Kelly and Evan Fahey each scored the first collegiate goals in the contest. Ian Hunter tallied his first collegiate assist. Tim Glaccum made one save in net.

Fahey opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as he stole the ball off a goal kick and knocked it in the net off of the keeper's fingers. The Bullets answered off the next tip-off and put the ball in the net off the post just 30 seconds later.

In the 26th minute, Gettysburg went ahead 2-1 off a header and the Bullets would hold the 2-1 advantage into the half.

In the 52nd minute, Hunter crossed the ball to Kelly, who headed the ball into the net to tie the game at two.

Gettysburg netted the go-ahead goal in the 72nd minute. Neumann would not be able to get another equalizer and fell 3-2.

Neumann (0-3) will face No. 1 Messiah College tomorrow evening beginning at 7:00 PM.
