Box Score

ASTON, Pa. The Neumann University men's basketball defeated Centenary College 57-52 a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal game on Tuesday night.

James Butler led the Knights with 17 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Moye notched a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Denzel Yard netted 10 points.

The first half was a back and forth battle. With the teams tied at eight, Neumann scored the next seven points to take the largest lead of the game, 15-8, with 12:39 on the clock. The Cyclones answered with their own run and tied the game at 17 with 10:20 to go in the half. Both teams then went on a scoring drought that lasted three minutes.

Green ended the drought and put the Knights up one by knocking down a free throw. In the final five minutes of the half, the score would be tied for the sixth and seventh time of the game. Neumann took a two point lead, 26-24, on a layup by Butler with 59 seconds left. The Knights took that two point advantage into the break.

The first basket of the second half was not scored until the 18:22 mark when Centenary tied the game up at 26. The Cyclones would take their largest lead of the game at the 11:39 mark of the second, 41-36. Neumann would then go on a 14-4 run to take its own five point advantage, 50-45, with 6:32 on the clock. During that run, Kevin Green hit the first three-pointer of the game for the Knights and put Neumann up 46-45.

Though still close down the stretch, the Knights would not relinquish the lead again. With 23 seconds left, Green was fouled and hit 1-of-2 from the line for a three-point lead. The Cyclones had a chance to tie the game with the last shot, but they missed on two three-pointers and Yard hit a last second layup to seal the win.

Neumann (16-10, 12-6 CSAC) will head to Cabrini (16-9, 13-5 CSAC) for a rematch of last season's CSAC Championship. Tipoff is slated for 7:00 PM on Friday evening.
