ASTON, Pa. – Neumann University's Director of Athletics and Recreation
Chuck Sack announces the appointment of
Len Schuler as Neumann University's head softball coach.
"I am excited to share that we have promoted Coach Schuler to the position of Head Softball Coach for Neumann University", said Sack. "Len demonstrated his wonderful leadership qualities and a strong vision for the program in our search process. We look forward to the 2017 softball season with excitement."
Coach Schuler has been a part of Neumann Athletics since 1982 when he was initially hired to lead the women's basketball program. He has worn many hats during his time at Neumann, most recently in the dual role of Associate Athletic Director an assistant softball coach.
"I am very pleased to be asked to lead the Neumann University softball program," says Coach Schuler. "The hope I have for this program would be to continue to improve on past performance and strive for excellence on the field and in the classroom."
As an assistant softball coach since 2007, Coach Schuler and the Knights have made the postseason each year, winning six conference championships to earn six NCAA Tournament bids. Neumann was also the conference runner-up three times and received four ECAC Tournament bids. Coach Schuler also helped coach four conference Players of the Year, two Pitchers of the Year and two Rookies of the Year over the 10 seasons.
In addition to coaching softball, Coach Schuler is currently the Associate Athletic Director for Facility Operations for the Mirenda Center for Sport, Spirituality and Character Development. He is the father of three grown children, grandfather to three granddaughters and one grandson and resides in Aston, Pa. with his wife, Donna.
