Bek Lucas, of the women's ice hockey team, is this week's Neumann University Athlete of the Week. Lucas was also named the ECAC West Player of the Week.
Lucas tallied six points, including five goals, in a sweep of SUNY Cortland last weekend. In a 4-3 win on Friday, the junior netted a shorthanded goal in the second period which tied the contest at two apiece. Lucas then scored Neumann's third goal 21 seconds into the third period. On Saturday, Lucas had a hat trick and an assist in a 5-3 win over the Red Dragons. She scored the only goal of the first period, coming on the power play. Lucas then netted another shorthanded goal in the third period before scoring the game-winning goal five minute later. Lucas capped her weekend with an assist on an empty-net insurance goal in the final minute.
