Neumann University Athletics

Head Coach Kevin Sloan begins his ninth season in 2014 with Neumann University men’s soccer team.

During the past two seasons, the Knights have tallied 12-7-2 and 12-7-3 records while advancing to the CSAC semifinals. During the past eight seasons Sloan has been at Neumann, he has amassed an overall record of 78-68-16.

In 2011, the Knights finished a banner season that saw them defeat both No. 25 Salisbury University (advanced on penalty kicks) and No. 1 Messiah College 1-0 in overtime in their second appearance at the NCAA Tournament. Coach Sloan was named to the NCAA Division III Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year and South Eastern Pennsylvania Association Coach of the Year for the efforts in guiding the Knights to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen. The Knights finished the 2011 season ranked nationally at No. 16.

Coach Sloan has led Neumann to two consecutive Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships in 2010 and 2011.

The Knights have qualified for the postseason for the past seven seasons. In those six appearances, Neumann has two CSAC Championships, two NCAA and two ECAC Tournament Appearances.

Coach Sloan played 21 years of professional soccer, playing both outdoor and indoor soccer winning national championships in 1990 and 2002. He enjoyed careers playing for the Maryland Bays, Tampa Bay Rowdies (ASL) and Baltimore Blast, Philadelphia Kixx (MISL) where he was an All-Star in every league he participated in. Coach Sloan has been a representative for the US National Futsal team.

Coach Sloan is a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, North Carolina, where he earned his International Business degree. He was a three time All-American and currently leads Catawba in career goals.

The Columbia, Md. native resides in Havertown, Pa. with his wife Tracey and their three children; daughters Charlotte and Amelia and son Oliver.
