SCRANTON, PA - A late rally by Neumann's Shana Mitchell was not enough to lead the Knights to PAC victory as the Pacers topped the visiting Knights 2-1 in PAC soccer action Saturday afternoon in Scranton.

Kirsten Powers put the Pacers on the board first after she took a through ball to goal and slotted it past Neumann's Elizabeth Raiburn at the 39:33 mark of the first half. Neumann was unable to capitalize on their six-first half shots as they closed out the first 45 minutes of play down one.

Minutes into the second half, Marywood struck again, this time facing off with Knight's goalie Kelsey Toomey, for the 2-0 lead.

Despite being out-shot 16-6 on the day, Neumann did not go away quietly. With just under five minutes to play in the game, Shana Mitchelle headed home a Casey Geary corner kick to bring the game to 2-1. The Knights got another dangerous opportunity with less than ten seconds remaining with another corner kick, but the clock expired before Geary could take the kick.

Marywood keeper Amy Hand made two saves on the day while Riaburn and Toomey combined for eight stops for the Knights. The loss sends Neumann to 5-6-2 overall and 2-5 PAC, While Marywood improved to 6-7 overall, and 5-4 PAC.
